The King of Rio Calls It a Day
So, Jose Aldo has decided to hang up his gloves for the second time, following a loss to Aiemann Zahabi at UFC 315 that many thought he actually won. The fight was a close one, with Aldo knocking down Zahabi in the third round, yet somehow the judges saw it differently.
Aldo’s Emotional Farewell
Aldo’s post-fight speech was a tearjerker, with the Brazilian legend stating he no longer had the heart for the sport. It’s a shame to see such a warrior go out on a note that doesn’t do his career justice, but then again, when has MMA ever been fair? The man’s resume speaks for itself: a former UFC and WEC featherweight champ, with wins over some of the biggest names in the sport. Yet, here we are, talking about a loss that shouldn’t have been.
What’s Next for Aldo?
Retirement, apparently. Again. But let’s be honest, in this sport, retirement is about as permanent as a tattoo you get on a drunken night out in Vegas. We’ll probably see him back in the octagon before we know it.
